The Results Of Prayer

DOES GOD ANSWER PRAYER?

 

I Samuel 1

“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.”
(v. 27)

I Kings 18

“Answer me, O Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”
(v. 37)

 

Daniel 6

“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem.  Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.”
(v. 10)

 

John 17

“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: ‘Father, the time has come.  Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.’
(v. 1)

 

DOES GOD ALWAYS ANSWER MY PRAYERS?

 

Ä  Sometimes God answers (quickly)

 

Ä  Sometimes the answer is clearly (no)

 

Ä  Sometimes God is (silent)

 

THE RESULTS OF PRAYER

 

P  Prayer should strengthen our faith and dependence on (God)

 

Prayer (teaches) me to see what God sees

 

P  Prayer should unify us with (one another)

 

Prayer (reminds) me to love as God loves

 

P  Prayer should be a tool of (glorifying) God through our story

 

Prayer (encourages) me to tell my story
