Faith Is Dangerous Because…It’s Revolutionary
Part 3 of 4 in the series “Dangerous Faith”

«  What do you think of when you think of the word revolution?

«  Is revolution a big or small concept in your mind?

«  Looking back at the definition of revolution, what parts of that definition do you think are too big to see accomplished?

«  What small role could the idea of revolution involve for you?

Go back and re-read Deuteronomy 6

«  Utilizing the definition of revolution, what do you think God was trying to accomplish in His people?

«  Would it involve knowledge? Heart change? Spiritual things? Change?

«  What happens when we simply focus on any one of these aspects? (For example: what happened when people simply relied on their knowledge of God or about God?)

«  After looking at each of those, answer this question: Do you think that God’s desire was for a partial commitment to Him or a complete surrender? Why?

Read John 3

«  What did Jesus tell Nicodemus was needed in order to follow God? «  Was Nicodemus thinking about a partial or complete surrender?

In verses 16-17, we find two of the most well known verses of the Bible

«  What do they teach about the purpose of Jesus?

«  How did the need for revolution impact why Jesus came to the earth as a man?

«  What do you think God was trying to accomplish through the sending of Jesus?

«  What type of commitment do you think Jesus was hoping to spark in the lives of his followers? Why?

Read Matthew 28. This passage is a recorded story of an appearance of the resurrected Jesus

«  Before He ascended back to the throne of God in heaven, what did he commission the believers to do?

«  What kind of revolution was needed?

«  Was this idea too big to be accomplished?

«  Where would it begin?

«  What would be needed in order for a revolution or change to take place?

Look back at the ingredients of a revolution in this week’s message

«      Why is it necessary to start with the commitment of the individual?

«      Based on what you know about God’s heart for revolution, why is it not ok to just keep it to ourselves?

«  What would the focal point of a revolution be?

«  What would it communicate about our relationship to God?

«  Is the idea of revolution too big for God to accomplish?

«  Based on what you know about God, how do you think revolution would come?

In knowledge?  Spiritual revival?  Emotional connection?  Force of will?  Or complete surrender?
