THE STRUGGLE

Lust is an attitude of the (heart) that says ‘I’m no longer satisfied’

“For everything in the world – the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does – comes not from the Father but from the world.”

I John 2:16

THE STRATEGY

Don’t be (foolish)

r  Guard your (eyes) . . .

    they lead to your heart

The fool says – ‘I’m just (looking)’

“The eye is the lamp of the body.  If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.  But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.  If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”

Matthew 6:22-23

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’  But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away.  It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”

Matthew 5:27-29

r  Don’t be (naïve) . . .

stay alert

The fool says – ‘It won’t happen to (me)’

“Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

I Peter 5:8

“He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe.”

Proverbs 28:26

r  Live (wisely) and . . .

                              stay out of dumb situations

The fool says – ‘It’s not a (big deal)’

“Flee from sexual immorality.  All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.”

I Corinthians 6:18
