LOOK AT THE STATISTICS FROM THE INTRODUCTION TO THE SERMON ON SUNDAY.  NOW DO A PERSONAL SURVEY.

Ê  How many people do you know personally that have lived in the destruction of an affair or adultery?

Ê  How prevalent do you think this problem is in your work place? Church?  Neighborhood?

Ê  Why do you think the statistics have grown so much in regards to the frequency of this issue?

READ MATTHEW 5:27-30

Ê  What was the focal point of Jesus’ words on adultery?

Ê  Where did he mention that adultery often starts?

Ê  How seriously do you think Jesus felt the issue of adultery was?

Ê  Do you think our culture has the same standard?

READ MATTHEW 6:19-24

Ê  What do you consider to be the definition of lust?

Ê  How do your eyes connect to your heart?

Ê  In what everyday situations does lust become an issue?

Ê  What are things that people lust after?

Ê  How does what we ‘see’ become part of this process?

Ê  Where does lust originate?

Ê  What does lust say about someone’s trust in God to provide?

READ I CORINTHIANS 6:12-20

Ê  How does the fool justify to himself that everything he or she is doing is ok?

Ê  How is asking ‘what is most beneficial for me’ a healthier question that ‘what is permissible’?

Ê  How does this principle link to sexual immorality?

Ê  According to verses 19-20, to whom do our bodies belong?

Ê  If this is true, then was does continuing to flirt with immorality do our relationship with God?

Ê     When two people claim ownership of the same item, what happens?

Ê     How is this tension true of those that continue to live outside of what God intended for marriage?

THE 3RD POINT TO THE MESSAGE SUNDAY WAS TO LIVE WISELY

Ê  How does this apply to the area of lust?

Ê  Going back to your survey in question #1, how many of those people that struggled put themselves into questionable situations?

Ê  What are some ways in which a husband and wife can live by the ‘Live Wisely’ principle?

Ê  What are some ways that the ‘Live Wisely’ principle affects other areas of your life?

PRAYER TIME

This week focus your prayer time on 3 areas

Ê  Pray for your marriage or personal dating life and commit to God that you desire to live wisely and not play the role of the fool

Ê  Pray for those around you that continue to experience the destruction of lust and infidelity

Ê  Pray for the opportunity to encourage, pray, counsel or listen to someone that might need God’s comfort and word from a situation they are facing this week
